Learn to Play, Emmy Ace Game & Hobby Shop, Saturday, October 17, 2026

About this event

We’ll walk you through the basics, help you get comfortable with the cards, and play through a game together. No experience is needed, and you don’t need to bring a deck — just show up and give it a try. Lorcana is easy to get started with, but there’s plenty of strategy once you get going. You’ll play familiar Disney characters, use actions and items, and race to collect lore before your opponent does. It’s also just a really great way to spend time with people. If you’re an adult, game night can be an easy way to meet new people without the awkwardness of trying to figure out what to talk about. If you have kids, it’s a fun way to stay connected as they get older — sitting across the table, laughing, talking, and doing something together instead of everyone sitting in the same room with their head in a phone. This is a relaxed, beginner-friendly event, so questions are encouraged and there’s no pressure to already know what you’re doing. New to Lorcana? New to trading card games altogether? You’re welcome here. Come learn, play a few games, meet some other Illumineers, and see what Lorcana is all about at Emmy Ace!
